• CONCERTS IN THE PARK
Beautiful orchestrations under the stars. Outdoor amphitheater at Washington Park.
Free. Weekly, Thursdays, 7:00 pm. June 6-August 8.

• FARMERS MARKET
The corner lot downtown designated as the local Farmers Market. The Outdoor Market
begins to present garden items in May, and is open into October. Saturdays only, 7am-noon.
Or hit the fields for delicious u-pick fruits & vegetables!

• Hoosier Coho Club Pro-Am pre-tournament. April 29, 2014

• Hoosier Coho Club Classic Fishing Tournament, MAY 2-4, 2014. Washington Park. Stop at the weigh-in center to see the bountiful catches of big Salmon & Trout. 40th Year.

• FISH FRY, May 30, 2014. Senior Center, 4:30-6:30.

• June 14 1:00-3:00 Flag Day Ceremony

• Skamania Mania Fishing Tournament, June 28-29, 2014. FREE.

• Kite Festival, snychronized kite flying. June 28-29 at the beach.

A wide assortment of activities encompassing weekends in June, July, August and September, at many
locations. Some days are filled with continuous events, so plan accordingly.

• MILLENIUM PLAZA PATRIOTIC PROGRAM, July 4, 8am.

• EVP BEACH VOLLEYBALL July 4, 2014. Washington Park Beach 9am.

• Band Concert at the Gazebo, July 4, 7pm.

• 57th BIG Annual Franklin Street Parade for 2014 is JULY 5. 11am-1pm.

• 53nd Drum and Bugle Corp July 5, Ames Field. 6pm.

• SPAGHETTI DINNER AT THE SENIOR CENTER July 10. 4pm-7:00pm. Come Eat!

• Lakefront Fundays, July 12-13, 2014. Rides, Arts, Crafts, Food.

• CARDBOARD BOAT RACE July 12, Noon, Washington Park Marina. Check out the boats in the staging area before they get wet.
Sit on the sandy shore just feet from the race and cheer them on.

FIREWORKS WASHINGTON PARK 2014 CANCELLED. The Mayor announced the cancellation on Feb. 11. But you can still enjoy a fun filled day at the beach. Parking areas are usually filled by noon.

• SOUL STEPPERS July 18, 2014. Washington Park. 4-10pm.

• SOUL STEPPERS July 19.

• SOUTHERN SHORE MUSIC FESTIVAL 12-12.

• SOCCER IN THE SAND, July 19, 8am - ??. At the beach. A nice crowd of all ages.

• GOSPEL FEST, Washington Park, July 26, 12 noon.

• 6th ANNUAL SUPERBOAT RACES ... directly off the beach on Lake Michigan. A powerful event. July 31 - Aug 3, 2014.
View the monster 5,000 HP boats daily, the parking lot is the pit area. Most boats have arrived by Friday Aug. 1,
and do test runs on Fri & Sat. Fun, food, entertainment, and lots of people.
Race Day is Sunday. A free shuttle bus can be used from off-site parking.

• DCI Quarterfinals Competition Aug 4-5, 2014. Ames Field.

• FIREMAN'S BALL Aug 9.

• LAKEFRONT ART FESTIVAL AUG 16-17, 2014
Choose from beautiful works by local artists/photographers and crafters.
Outdoors at Washington Park. An entire weekend in August. Admisson fee.

• IN-WATER BOAT SHOW AUG 21-24, 2014
The largest in-water boat show on Lake Michigan. Power & Sail.
Magnificient yachts to speedboats. Large area of shore exhibits and nautical accessories.
A 4 day event, in August. Entertainment. Food. Refreshments. (Laporte County residents get free admission on Aug 21.)
NOTE: Dates for the current year Boat Show are usually released in January.

• TRI-STATE SAILING RACE (Labor Day)
During this September race, Michigan City is one of the ports to view
the participating sailing vessels. They arrive from Michigan late afternoon-early evening, and depart
the following morning on the final leg back to Chicago to declare the winner.

• SUMMER FESTIVAL LABOR DAYZ Aug 29 - Sep 1, 2014.
A party atmosphere the entire Labor Day weekend. Held in Washington Park
at the lakefront. Arts, crafts, food, rides, bands, beer tents.

• OKTOBERFEST Washington Park Senior Center: October 11-12, 2014.

• PIONEER DAYS
Scheduled in September at Creek Ridge County Park.

• "BOO" AT THE ZOO Trick or Treat.
Held October at the Washington Park Zoo. 5-8pm. Regular admission fees.

• FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS
Each Christmas season, the Park Department illuminates Washington Park
with hundreds of thousands of lights, decorations, and animations to fill the air
with a spectacular holiday mood. Lighting Ceremony & parade Dec 6.
Extremely beautiful when there is a fresh snow.

If you have ever wondered why we talk about all the fun of Spring, Summer, and Fall ......
now is your chance to view that "other" season. Chill out, it's an annual event.
