MISSION STATEMENT

TO PROVIDE QUALITY, COST-EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVES TO OVERCROWDED CORRECTIONAL FACILITIES, AND TO DEVELOP PROGRAMS WHICH ENCOURAGE THE ACTIVE PARTICIPATION OF COURTS, COMMUNITIES, VICTIMS, AND OFFENDERS.

As a county agency under the authority of the Lake County Board of Commissioners, and operating under the auspices of the Indiana Department of Correction, Lake County Community Corrections contributes to the local criminal justice community the following

SERVICES
Electronically Assisted Intensive Supervision

For Adults and Juveniles
Low risk, non-violent offenders whose crimes are of a more serious nature are ordered by our local courts to serve their sentences under highly structured supervision which includes 24 hr/day electronic surveillance, home and work site visits by staff, and an individualized but mandatory program of rehabilitative and risk reduction activities.
Residential / Work Release

For Adult Males
Those offenders who are felt by the local courts to be in need of incarceration but capable of rehabilitation in the community are sentenced to the Kimbrough Work Program. This facility provides the institutional supervision needed to assure community safety as well as case managed participation in rehabilitative programs.
